SAO (Standard Application Online)
The Standard Application Online, a shared application used by many U.S. boarding schools. One profile, one set of essays and recommendations, sent to several schools.
Why it matters
Most schools your child applies to will accept it, so the family prepares one application rather than five. Some schools use their own form instead.
Who decides
Each school decides what it requires with the SAO.
Not sure what this means for your child?
A GESP consultant can explain the term in the context of your family's own plan.
