Merit aid

A reduction in tuition a school offers for what a student brings: academic record, talent, athletics, or the profile the school is looking to add.

Why it matters

A merit award is a sign the school wants your child. It is not the same as need-based aid, and it may have conditions, so read the terms.

Who decides

Each school decides it.

Nothing published mentions this term yet. As articles, guides and news are tagged with it, they will appear here.
