Duolingo English Test
An online English test taken at home, accepted by most U.S. boarding schools as proof of English ability. Results arrive within a few days.
Why it matters
It is usually the first thing a school looks at for a student whose first language is not English, and it is the quickest test to arrange.
Who decides
Each school sets the score it wants.
