Admissions tour

A trip where admissions leaders from U.S. boarding schools, sometimes heads of school, travel to a country to meet students and families before anyone applies.

Why it matters

When the application later arrives, the school already knows the child and the family. Nothing is decided at the meeting; it is where the relationship starts.

Who decides

Schools choose which tours to join; admission is decided later, through the normal process.

Nothing published mentions this term yet. As articles, guides and news are tagged with it, they will appear here.
