Jonty Loukes joined GESP as an Educational Advisor in September 2025 after eight seasons as Head Coach and Director of Soccer at The Kiski School in Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, where he also taught history and served as Assistant Director of Admissions. Few people have seen the boarding-school student-athlete experience from as many sides: as a coach recruiting and developing players, as a teacher in the classroom, and as an admissions officer walking families through the process.
Under Loukes, Kiski went from no state titles in its history to five Pennsylvania Independent Schools (PAISAA) championships in six years, including four straight from 2021 to 2024, and was ranked among the top prep programs in the country. He built the program on an international roster — his 2024 playoff squad drew players from thirteen countries, including Spain, Brazil, Italy, the Netherlands, Guatemala, Serbia, South Korea and the Dominican Republic — and helped found the Prep Premier League in 2023 to give prep-school players a national stage for college recruitment. His players have gone on to NCAA Division I programs including West Virginia, Duquesne, Oakland and Michigan, and his approach to placement is to open doors nationwide rather than funnel players toward the same few schools.
A native of Sheffield, England, Loukes spent eight years in the Barnsley FC academy before signing professionally and playing first-team football at Barnsley and Stafford Rangers. He moved to the United States in 2009 to pursue coaching and went on to play three seasons at Point Park University in Pittsburgh, where he captained the team, earned All-Conference honors twice, and helped the program reach its first NAIA National Tournament. Before Kiski, he served as a graduate assistant coach at Saint Vincent College and as Director of Coaching at Foothills Soccer Club and Director of Operations at Beadling Soccer Club, the oldest continuously operating soccer club in the United States.
Loukes holds a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Saint Vincent College and a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Point Park, along with coaching credentials from both the English FA and United Soccer Coaches. He sets the same expectations for every player he works with: comfort with what is being asked of them, hard work on and off the field, and respect for everyone in the school community. “We are a community, a family,” he says.
